The IST Technical Conference promises be a very exciting event and is targeted at technicians, technical specialists and technical managers, so please bring this event to the attention of your staff. UBMA normally has a stand at the event (in the Careers Zone) and we are looking for volunteers to man the stand, which will offer us an opportunity to network with touch base with members and potential new members.

Professor Sir Doug Turnbull, Professor of Neurology, Newcastle University
In addition to the Keynote speakers there will be 15 workshops running across 3 sessions throughout the day and these include:

- The History and Ethics of Laboratory Animal Work
- Electronic Motorbikes
- Performance Management for Technical Staff
- Health and Safety – including Centrifugation Clinic
- Jewellery and Metal Enamelling

In addition there is a poster competition again this year – the winner will receive £150 Amazon vouchers, so it’s an ideal opportunity to submit a presentation and/or encourage your staff to do so.
